I can't see enemy planet in the Transfer Cargo window

Submitted by zomis on Fri, 2008-01-04 13:37. Space Empires V FAQs

I've loaded up my Freighter with troops, supplies, ordnance, and even some of my own population.
I've killed the enemy's space defense with my ships, so now I wanted to capture the planet.

But even though my Freighter and the enemy planet are exactly on the same square, I just haven't been able to drop my troops down on the planet to start capturing it.

Not even on empty planets, where the population already have been wiped out by some of my intelligence sabotage tasks, I can't land with any troops or population there either because of the same reason: The planet's not in the list.

Why??

You don't use the transfer cargo order to land troops. Attack the planet with the freighter and order it to drop troops.

I've had this happen everytime I view elsewhere while having a ship selected.

Hi there,
Use your freighter or Troopship Equiped with troops to capture a planet.
The Ship design should also have capture planet orders.

Then you can order the freighter/troopship to attack the required planet.
This should then deploy your troops when within range of the planet for ground combat?

Note: Once all population has been destroyed on a planet, the planet carnnot then be captured, Only colonised, if it is of the correct type for your race and you have a spare colony ship about?

Capture is by far the best and cheepest way to expand you empire.

Hope this helps

That explains it. Thanks!
I was always attacking in Strategic mode so I never noticed any "Land troop" button.
