New Game: BvB Needs Players |
Starting a new game and looking for some players. The game will have the following settings:
We will be running SE5 v 1.66 w/ Balance Mod 1.11 (folder name 110+)
Turns will be once per day, initially, then we will slow them up as things heat up...
Looking for 5 players, though I will expand this if we have enough interest.
Starting resources: 50,000
Starting planets: 5
Home planet value: Average
Score display: alliedl
Technology level: Medium (500,000 pts)
Racial points: 3,000
Quadrant type: Old
Quadrant size: Large
Event frequency: High
Event severity: Catastrophic
Technology cost: High
Victory conditions: To the death!
Maximum units: 5,000
Maximum ships: 1,000
Computer players: High
Computer difficulty: High
Computer player bonus: High
Neutral empires: Yes
Other game settings:
- Warp points not always connected and can be located anywhere
- Empires allowed to start in same system and not evenly distributed.
- Will be using custom ship sets for computer players
- You are allowed to use custom ship sets as well, just tell me in advance of the start time which one you want.

I might be interested - is this an appropriate game for a n00blet (really only 1 game of any kind up through turn 60 for me so far - at least it's BM 1.12 
)?
Also, the game description says BM 1.11 (directory 1.10+). I've got 1.12 installed in that 1.10+ directory - would that work?

The game currently really does run on version BM 1.11; You'll have to download that. (I'm sure the game will be upgraded once PBW supports BM1.12).
The game is still in year 1... So you can still jump in. Best to jump in ASAP if you want to get things properly under control.
(If you want to run a 1.11 balance mod just copy your enitre game directory, delete the 1.12 version in your copy and place a 1.11 in there.. then it'll work).

Thanks for the info Myrath. I'm still interested in PBW, but I'm going to hold out for the time being until BM 1.12 is available in PBW games. I couldn't tell you the real difference between 1.11 and 1.12, but 1.12 is what I have installed and am using in my solo game, and I'd rather just hold out for the time being (even if it means I miss out on some turns or whatnot).

Last chance to get in on this game... I'm starting it tomorrow night, we have 4 players already in at this time, computer players will make up the slack...
