Balance Mod question: Fighter weapon ?

Hi all,

this is a possible dumb question (and may have been posted before) but
as I played SEV these days it occured to me that it could be nice to
have a dedicated Fighter Interceptor, hunting enemy fighter bombers,
clearing the way for my own bombers by eliminating enemy fighters
and especially to help out in the point defense role protecting a fleet/convoy.

However, i did not find a small weapon to put on a fighter which targets
seekers. (I am around TL 4-6, and I did not play a game longer than TL
8 thanks to the steady stream of patches/versions and lack of time Smiling )

Is it possible to include a fighter sized small PD weapon (excluding flak
and bomblet missile) in the balance mod ?
Thinking about 1/3 to 1/2 range of the normal version with small damage
potential, only to be mounted on fighters, not sats/drones.
Possibly 2 versions like a 1kt pd as a defense weapon on a bomber like
a WW2 B-17 (replaces armor) and a stronger longer ranged 2kt PD as a
fighter weapon.

Just a thought. At least under a flavour/role playing aspect it would
be nice.

However, this may not be possible due to balance considerations and
AI handling.
