Adding Empires To Games

Hey Everyone,

I'm wondering what the what most common game types used by everyone; in terms of research points and racial points. I'm creating a pack of saved empires for a couple of the most common configs. This way people can add specific races to their games on start up (like in SE4). Right now I have no tech, 2000 racial points (available thru the link below). Let me know what everyone wants and I'll add them over the next couple of weeks.

Sounds cool, but not sure exactly what u mean. Will this be races that will be played by the A.I. or races we can play with out having to make em ourselves?

It's newyears day so I am lagging a little today, i'm pretty sure it was the jack and lime juice shots, and not the corona's......i think lol.

Both,

For instance say you want to have four empires and only four. And you even know which empires you want. Say the Xiati, Abbidon, Sergetti, and the Terrans. Then you could play your own custom empire or play any of the preset AI empires (like quick start, but custom game). Just change them to controlled by the Computer or Human.

Ahh, ok very cool idea, i was hoping someone would do this.

Well i pesonally would like to see an extremly aggressive warlike race that has absolutley no regard for any other race's existance. Its sole purpose is to truly and absolutely control space. A race like that would definately be something to rekon with and would force the player as well as the A.I. races to change tactics, research, and political strategies. Maybe a robotic race, ofcourse any race would do. I mean what could be more scarry then something that doesn't feel remorse, pain, does not negotiate, and absolutly will not stop. First time i saw terminator, whoa, you know what i mean? lol.

One of the things i noticed in the games i play, not may races use shields, well i haven't encountered any yet, and since i use them early in the game with armor, i always have an advantage. I'd like to see one that see's the importance of shield use and reaserches for that, would prove to be interesting. Ofcourse i'm not sure that you could do that but it would be cool.

I think a race that can steal technology and sell(trade) for other tech would be a dangerous race indeed, but not sure if that would disrupt the balance of the game or not.

A race that specializes in ship tech and components rather then numbers of ships would also be a tuff race to face, they may only have 10-20 ships in a fleet but would cut most fleets down with thier advancements.

If you thinking of creating completely new races, with new techs (which would be awesome,hint hint, lol),there are so many possiblities.

A vampyric race that always does atleast x2 damage to enemy crew in ship capture attacks.Weapons that no matter what they hit or effect will always yeild crew damage. Maybe even add troops to their own forces in combat while reducing the enemy numbers, due to bites, disease, etc.

Well those are just a few i can think of off hand, but truthfully doing what you plan to do will be awesome either way, and will be a great mod IMHO.

Oh and a final note: your last Unnamed mod update works great for me and i am definately having fun with it....thnx.
