Dynamic Crew Requirements question

By dynamic crew requirements I mean sitting hulls to require only a small amount of crew and the various componants to require additional crew.

Ability 2 Type := AI Tag 20
Ability 2 Description := Requires [%Amount1%] regular crew.
Ability 2 Scope := Space Object
Ability 2 Range Formula := 0
Ability 2 Amount 1 Formula := 3
Ability 2 Amount 2 Formula := 0

That's how I have it in the components.txt but having not tested it yet do I have it set in right? The main question is how will the requirement for life support work? I'm guessing that if the hull requires 25 crew the adding of the above component will make the new requirement quarters and life support for 28 instead of 25, but wanted to check.

IIRC the Gritty Galaxy mod has dynamic crew based on components. Check it out and see if it does what you want.

AI Tags by themselves do absolutely nothing; you have to add requirements to the hull to actually create the requirement of more crew. Essentially, CQ need to have negative ability amounts, equivalent to the amount of crew they provide. Then, every ship hull needs to have a requirement that the total value of AI Tag 20 be = 0, if you prefer doing the math that way.)
