Get_Design_Ability_Component_Count - does it work in Component.txt?

Can I have a component that requires there to be another component to be a valid design?

On a related note, does "Get_Design_Ability_Total" work too?

If you have 1.63, yes, they should work in the Requirement fields.

Ah~ This now allows me to have different ship types in my future mod~

Basically, have only 1 level of Crew Quarters/Life Support (retrofitting these components is particularly time consuming due to the lack-of-crew penalty...) and have each different ship type (there are only 3) require an exact number of each. Now I don't need to fiddle with strange sizes to restrict certain components to certain ship types.
