Range Check Error!!! |
Good god, that brings me back to the good old days of rediculous numbers, but this is happening on the very same demo version that was downloaded off malfador.com. Any ideas?
If hardware matters in this case, here's mine: under all default settings in-game, Catalyst 6.5, X800GTO (400/490 stock, tried OC to 490/560, got error once, lowered to stock, same thing), Biostar T-Force4 SLI, AMD X2 3800+ (stock speeds), 2gb (4x512mb) of OCZ Platinum DDR400 (2-3-2-5, stock voltage), and a more than adequete power supply.

You will have to do this every time you start the game (GRRRMM)
But its a small burden for such a cool game, is it not ??

Just take me to your leader !!!
Prio
There's a utility out there called Prio that will remember that setting for you.

I've been using it for a while- works fine.

X2
The X2 is likely the problem. SE5 doesn't seem to like certaind dual-core processers. Open SE5, but leave it on the setup screen.
Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE, go to the process tab, right-click on SE5.exe, select Set Affinity, and uncheck one of the CPUs. Play.
You might have to re-do this every time you open SE5; I'm not sure if Windows preserves the setting or not.
