That Looked So-o-o-o Cool!

4 of my friagtes racked out with Lvl 5 Organic Missiles and set to Maximum Weapon Range engage 5 GSHS (Godless Space Heathen Scum) packing 3 DU cannons each. In this game I've developed a healthy respect for DU cannons--they are no longer the poor man's plinker, but a formidable weapon design.

We're approaching each other on a "East-West" heading with my units coming in from the East. I don't like how the AI makes all weapons from every ship fire at a single target; although mathematically it makes sense, but as a Lvl 5 Anything is more than adequate I pause the game to individually select targets for my units.

Naturally I have range advantage and having 12 movement--the same as the enemy fleet--means I can execute a turn before the enemy can close the critical distance to effectively brings his cannons to bear.

The cool part comes in when my fleet splits into 2 teams of two ships each. One turns back East, the other turns North. The enemy fleet pursues the Eastern wing of my fleet while the Northern wing circles back and runs parallel to the enemy lobbing missiles the whole time. The outcome was a foregone conclusion but watching the missiles strip away ship-after-ship was most satisfying with two groups "coordinating."

BTW - Why is the forum splitting my post? If you're looking for AAR's--which are by their nature lengthy--this ain't gonna work.

BTW BTW - What does this mean:

It's repeated like 20 times in the preview of my AAR.
