Hello |
Just wanted to make a quick introduction. I'm Huwie, and I'm completely new to the Space Empires series. My girlfriend bought me SEV recently and after about 50 turns I'm loving it!
I do have a question. Is there anything that, as a completely new player, you think I ought to know? I'm aware of certain mods, especially with regard to AI, but I plan to play through a medium-sized galaxy at least once with the vanilla version first just to get a feel for things. But any other info you feel I should have would be most welcome. Thanks!

Re: Hello
and hey the best way to leaarn is by reading the forums and playing game gainst human oponents.
be happy to do PBEM as have a few already going at mo, gud fun.

Re: Hello
ha ha. best way to get pwned is to play against human players
Comp is pretty decent for learning the basics. doesn't put up much of a fight.
In multi you really have to get creative to counter other players fleets
Be sure to get the lastest patch. It cleans up alot and helps with turn processing.
Tutorial also gives a good taste of what to expect. but with you being 50 turns in already, sounds like your doing alright.
Use the combat simulator to test your designs.
sensors (combat and ecm) help ALOT for fighting.
Mines are the bane of the computer, if you want them to stop coming through a certain warp point, set up a minefield.
Supply ships.
Supply Satellites
Sensor Drones
colonize colonize colonize!!
and have fun!
