Can a planet be coded to restis the effect of a black hole ?

Submitted by Ophanim on Thu, 2007-11-01 21:36. SE:V MODs

That may've sounded like a stupid question but hear me out.

I want to try and create a faction like the forces of chaos in Warhammer 40K. Anarchistic raiders stricking out of the "Eye of Terror". So as I asked... is it at all possible to code in a planet or other celestial body that can exist *statically* in a black hole system?

And as a side note, using a bit of creativity, can have "get_empire_tech_..." and the right scope to mean that they have whatever the tech leader in a given field has? (recial and unique tech asside)

I thought planets weren't affected by the "movement towards center" ability?

Same here. asteroid belts, stars, planets, nebula, none is affected. Then again in stock none will exist in the same system anyways.

OK New question: Can I edit the stellar objects and/or other docs to include this one planet in a black hole system? How would I get a hypothetical empire to start in THAT system? or taylor a home system to that empire?

Just do a custom system type. copy one of the black hole entries, then add in some entries to tell it to generate planets around the black hole. Then you need to change the galaxy definitions to have a galaxy type that spawns it. There's a catch though, unless you make a galaxy when stellar locations are fixed, like the diamond (in stock), it's location will be chosen at random.
