Problems starting multiplayer games with 1.58 |
Hi
I am currently having problems starting games with my version of SEV 1.58 with or without the BM 1.11.
At first I thought it must be my copy of SEV so I reinstalled it. But this did not fix the problem.
So I asked two other players to set up a game and see if they could get one going...they couldn't either.
We emailed MM and he seems to be working on the problem but I have seen that other have started game with 1.58 so I've been doing more messing around...to see what the problem might be.
I get the following message when I load empires into my games that do not come from my copy of SEV
I would very much like to get this fixed as it is really p***ing me off. Any ideas?

Ok I have fixed the above error message but I do not know if this will fix the problem I have been having.

The error is due to an outdated strategies file.
Try downloading v1.11 again. Check the date stamp on the default_ai_strategies file in the default empire folder - should be dated 19-Sep-07. It seems your file for some reason or another wasn't updated.
I had no problem myself setting up a game with the exact mod files from the website.

Well that seems to be what the problem was...games are up and running.

For reference, we didn't both try joining games that the other had created - the other player started a game and I joined it only.
