Still having problems with Mods

Submitted by madman22 on Tue, 2007-10-30 21:23. Space Empires V General

I have downloaded the Unnamed Mod into the Gameplay Folder, but I am having trouble unzipping or merging with my Stock SEV game.

You do not want to merge anything with the stock game.

Unnamed AI mod tends to come in RAR format; what app are you using to extract it? You'll need something that supports RAR, like WinRAR or 7-zip.

I am using WinRAR, but I do not seem to have an unzip option (first time using WinRAR). What do I do to open the mod as a game option.

I forget how exactly WinRAR works, but with 7-zip once you intall it, you get a 7-zip menu under the context menu in Explorer which contains handy options like "extract here", which you can use to extract the file to your GameTypes folder.

If we are plugging various zip/unzip utilities, then I'd recommend AlZip. They do stick to their 3-side ideal of "Easy, Fast, Useful" - and free.

But if you've got WinRAR installed, then you just right-click and choose "extract here..."

Since 99% of the formats WinRAR supports are not .zip files, the extraction button is labeled with a generic "extract," rather than a term specific to a particular compression format.
