Planet repartition scheme

Submitted by Pocus on Sun, 2007-10-21 05:17. Space Empires V General

Hi,

We are going to launch a PBEM game (9 or so players and me). We would need an answer to the following questions: Are the planets atmospheres and types stricly randomised at start, or a bias exists for some types (like gas giant less frequents but bigger, etc.).

Please answer only if you are sure, thanks much in advance.

Pocus.

ah well i myself have messed with that a bit, u can change the systemtypes.txt file to whatever u want, in stock it an even split between all types but u can rewrite to 50 methane and 50 oxygen with no other atmospheres if u so desire.
however it may be idff depending on any mod u may be using, is changeable the same way with appropriate data file in mod directry.

I'm not aware of any mods that try to tip the balance away from equity.

I believe this question is about player starting planet's atmosphere/type. As in, if everyone is one type of planet, then colonising is contested. If everyone has the same atmosphere, conquering/immigranting does not yield anything to get rid of some of your Domed colonies.

Playing Touhou games (Go here if interested . No, nobody else is that good/insane as that replay). No rush for SE V bug fixing.
