Can I change the research?

Is it possible to change the way the research works? I would like that I can put quarter percent steps, instead of only full percents. And I would like to make the percents working like (*percents invested* ^2/3) * research points, to enhance splited reserach. Is something like this possible?

Look through the various files, one of them has exactly that section. I think it may be the Empire's main setup script.

I searched such a file, but I can't find it. I play the european version in english, are all the files the same? Is it in the data folder (I am quite sure to have opened every file multiple times there) Or in the se5empire main scripts (where I only found the possibility to change computer empires). Can you give me any further information about this file?

In the data folder there is a file called formulas.txt, it has the formulas for calculating research costs at low, medium, and high settings.

Ok, but this is completly different from the thing that I want to change. There I only change the technology cost. but I want to make the research non-linear to the percents of research which you invest.
