map creation and balance mod

I keep getting errors when I use ergie's map creator and the balance mod v10. However the editor seems to work with the stock data files... Any thoughts kwok?

A little more info... I'm pretty sure the program is pointed towards the correct folders. Could there be something in balance mods data folder (those 5 txt files) that is messing up ergie's program.

I've had the same problem -- works just fine using the files from BM 1.09, though, so it must be related to some change that was made -- possibly the randomization of stellar abilities?

Even using the BM 1.09 files, though, I can't get it to complile -- is there a way to do it?

At one point I thought I couldn't get ergie's program to work at all. But I can get it to work (not compile) with the stock 1.58 data files. Then I use MM's compilier.

It actually uses MM's compiler to compile the maps -- but by default, it will look in the wrong directory to try to find where the compiler is. Once you tell it the correct location, it works fine.

However, the compiler won't compile a map if it has stellar objects that aren't in stock as part of it (thus the problem with BM maps).

I had been making maps for balance mod... by backing up the game's Data folder, and then copying the balance mod files into the root data folder (then restoring the original folder when the map making was complete). This was necessary for the compiler to use the right files.

However, I recently tried this with a new install of the map editor and version 1.58... and the editor errors out when I try to generate a random map.
