1.58 stock game bugs

Intelligence facilities no longer seem to yield intelligence points. Can anyone confirm that this is a genuine bug? Quite a game breaker if it is Sad I also noticed the AI builds satellites with a bunch of basic scanners on them but no weapons or combat sensors.

Intelligence facilities are working fine with me. Make sure not to have any treaty that stop intelligence projects.

And make sure you use a "fresh" game setup when starting a new game.

Umm, I cancelled all treaties and things are well now, must have overlooked one before!

Yeah, I've had a treaty before where an AI race wanted to amend a treaty a while after I had a tech advantage, and I hadn't noticed one of the changes they wanted included both sides stopping all research. I went nuts for quite a few turns wondering why my research progress died off.

Is anyone else encountering the supply/ordnance bug for units?

I seem to have a drain in both. If I make say 20 identical satellites, each with supply/ordnance and put them out in the space they all seem fine (have full ordnance and full supple). When I start the battle, first one has full supply/ordnance, second has a bit less (depends on design I think, from 3-15 less then max), third has even less(double what the first missed), fourth lacks three times the supply amount the second did, and so on untill the last ones are either dry or quite low on supplies. This also happens in simulator, so it is easy to check. You can even see it by selecting all the satellites in combat, the ordnance/supply bars have visible loss.

(this is with 1.58 stock version)

It makes large concentrations of satellites/fighters hard to use, unless you build them with massive ordnance/supply storages.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in the game or the balance mod, but somehow I gained control of another empire's ship that was all the way on the other end of the galaxy...

I haven't even met this empire and I suddenly had control over one of their ships...

That's not a bug, it's a random event. The fact that it'll give you ships from races you've never seen is a bug, but the transfer of ship control is just a random event.

I had a game going with max number of empires, highest difficulty level and max bonus to AI's. Access violation ... game crash. Loading from a savegame (saved every turn) same sh** ... I give up.

I had an access violation too. Piss me off. So, I uninstalled, deleted everything, re-installed, then 1.58 patch, then BM 1.10. Had no problems yet. Must have been 1.44. I like the changes though. Oh, except in BM I would like the cargo to hold alittle more pop. Where is the setting to change cargo? Thanks.

Found something interesting while moving 4 fleets and a lone carrier together. All started on the same warp point and selected all to move to planet. first fleet along with carrier went the full 13 movement, next moved 12, next 11 and the last 10 so they were all strung out from the planet. None had any move left.
I have a savegame if you think its worth sending in??

From what I've seen, ships/fleets selected together will move 'separately'.
If one ship/fleet runs out of movement, other ships/fleets with movement remaining will keep on moving until they run out of movement.
Could this be the case?
Or did the ships/fleets that stopped early still have movement left?

no they had no move left. i know they move "seperately" but they all started with 13 movement. but only 1 fleet actually moved the whole 13. the other fleets moved 12,11 and 10 respectively and ended up in a line. they should have all stopped in the same sector... 13 movement away.

I'm loving the new 1.58 patch, especially the "never retreat" options that prevent my fleet's non-combat ships from scattering.

Here are some bugs I've noticed, minor as they are:

1) AI builds drones with no weapons. In fact, I have yet to encounter a computer drone with a weapon/warhead on it.

2) After an AI empire is destroyed completely, its remaining drones are left on the game map forever. Do they not require supplies?

3) Constant non-sensical messages from AI empires about how my tretchery will not go unpunished when I am not interacting with them in any way (no intel against them, no ships in their systems). Many other kinds of messages as well such as: they are launching a massive offensive in a system I have never visited, or requesting me to stop attacking systems I have never visited.

and a comment about intel: it is (still) overpowered.
I wish there was a way to tone down the possible max severity of sabatoge projects without disabling intel all together.

Is that in stock?

The Balance Mod hasn't incorporated any Alliance fixes yet.

I have 2 bugs. I upgraded from the 1.44, and then got the new BM 1.10,
1. I get Access Violation 0071f052 every time I try and open the Planet List. I am only few turns, maybe 20 or into a new game and I'm getting it every single time. I didn't try after the first turn. I might try making a new game and seeing if it does it before I find new systems.

2. I don't know if this happened in other versions, but I started with medium AI players and I have 3 computer players that are the same empire. I have found 2, and its annoying trying to figure out who is who. Reminds me of the old CFL days, "and the roughriders defeated the roughriders 10 to 9, a great day for the roughriders!"

hey everyone, im new here on this website, but i´ve played SE for years now.

about the 1.58 ver im getting some erratic mesages from the AI empires.
some of them are asking me to get out of their sistems, and i dont even have ships there.
also, it tells me that stop spending intel on them, and again i dont have any point on them.

is anyone having the same problem??

Movement loss for stacked fleets seems to be consistent with new games. does anyone else get this?
When you move a stack of fleets (same start location, same movement points) each fleet moves 1 less than the one before it.

Make sure to send a savegame illustrating the bug to Malfador.
