SE:V v1.58 History |

The latest history file from the beta. Just a couple of fixes to sew up some lose ends. A Phong trader reported that the anticipated cargo should be here by the end of the week.
Version 1.58:
1. Fixed - The "Can Be Placed In Ship Sections" for components was not being checked in the Create Design window.
2. Changed - Increased Quantum Reactor supply generation.
3. Fixed - Sometimes trade would still be going with empires even if there was no trade treaty provision.
4. Fixed - The Transfer Cargo during an order exploit.
5. Fixed - Added text to the ability descriptions for Organic Armor, Shield Regenerator, and Cloak saying they
require supply to function.
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
To those who care, Longship will be delayed by a week because I am out of the country.
The latest update is merging parts of Devnull's mod into Longship, resizing some facilities, changing the starting homeword facilities to more manageable ones. Population size is larger so it takes up more cargo, and I also made it even harder to kill pop. to encourage invasions more.
Thanks goes out to Captain Kwok for the engine and AI modifications.
Hopefully the patch will allow warp points to actually restrict tonnage like its supposed to, and AI will use stellar manipulation.

Re: SE:V v1.58 History
I hope the shortness of this list is an indicator that we're about to get the patch.

Re: SE:V v1.58 History
This is a huge patch.I'm guessing this could be the last patch for a while, and MM will start full steam on the expansion pack.

Re: SE:V v1.58 History
Was hoping the patch to come out today .
hoe we'll have it VERY OON !!..Can't wait..

Re: SE:V v1.58 History
Almost there.... Almost there.... Just a few more seconds.......
Groovy Baby Yeah!
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
2 looks very interesting, especially since I found it odd that some advanced power source was barely better than solar power when it came to power output.
It's odd to have a big ship with a half dozen solar collectors and to have to swap it out for an equal number of quantum reactors just to maintain a similar level of supply generation...
Good example of what those things should be capable of.
Romulans from Star Trek and Membari from Babylon 5 use such tech to power their ships, then there are those little uber powered "ZPM" things from the Stargate SG-1/Atlantis series, and of course the Quantum Reactor from SE IV.
5 makes sense, although I didn't know Organic Armor needed supplies to regen.
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
#2 About time! This was one of the things that you always had to mod yourself.
Ok let's hope the goods will be delivered soon.

Re: SE:V v1.58 History
I really hope that everything will work ok in 1.58, but chances are that there will be some things that require extensive playtesting to notice. Beyond that, as I have already noted, the game AI and scripting requires a lot of work.
It will be a big letdown if Aaron starts developing the expansion now, this game still requires his attention.
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
i opt so for no the next beta's should be public - this will help to catch all hidden and remaining bugs for now

Egad, I must be pathetic...it took me approximate.y .7 seconds to place that quote.
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
Captain Kwok...So when the patch comes out will there be an update to the Balance Mod? Or am I getting ahead of myself...
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
I asked the same question and was told by someone other than Kwok that there would be a new Balance Mod at the sametime as the patch or "within hours" of it's release. It would be reassuring if Kwok actually confirmed this.
Re: SE:V v1.58 History
Kwok has been working on a 1.10 for a while, made to take advantage of the latest beta changes... You can see all sorts of threads where he talks about this.

Eagerly awaiting cargo delivery.
I'm having to flog my ministers to attain positive results.
On another note, I may have an issue but I'm awaiting cargo delivery to see if it contains the corrective action required.
