Transfer cargo - Bug or feature?

I found out a very curious way to transfer cargo in stock game and want to ask, if it's a feature or bug. Patch version is 1.44, stock game, turn based (don't know if it works in simultanous).

How to do it
First get a freighter at one of your worlds e.g. homeworld
Select the freighter
Select load/drop cargo remotely
Do NOT select the location just press 'T' for cargo transfer
Transfer cargo screen for your homeworld and your freighter is displayed
Close this window
The text of selecting the dest. should continue to be displayed
Move to any of your worlds, even in other systems
Select them
Transfer Cargo Screen of this world is displayed
Feel free to transfer cargo.

After that you can remotly transfer any cargo to any of your worlds by having only 1 freighter at your homeworld and you don't need to move it. Is this feature or bug?
