Loading Setup From CD |
If you have difficulty loading setup.exe from the CD - Copy all the icons onto your C: drive in a temporary directory. This may take several minutes.
Run setup.exe and follow the prompts.
I had difficulty loading setup from CD-R and DVD-ROM drives. I hope this workaround helps you.

This is a great fix. It looks impossible because the bug makes the CD drive run and locks everything else up-but if you
1. put the cd in
2. double click on windows explorer
3. eject the disk-makes windows explorer open along with two error messages
4. put the disk back in
5. transfer the icons
6. select "setup"

Not working
I just got the game today, and was very much looking forward to playing it -- then I ran into this problem. I was quite glad to find this advice after a good bit of searching, and tried it, but it freezes when I try to copy setup. Help?

It's a kind of bad omen when the installer refuses to work, but at least this workaround helped. Now, finally, to play.
