Build "Wonders"

is it possible to create a facility that may be built only one in gwhole alaxy? something like in Civ. or at least only first one must be effective.

I'm not sure about the only building one issue, but if you could build more (but not have any effect) then that would likely play havoc witht the Ai.

Hmm, that would require extra coding I guess. And you could have many levels of unique stuff:

One per system per empire
One per system
One per empire
One per quadrant

You also need and additional flag: "can be rebuilt if destroyed"
And write some extra code and decide what to do when capturing more than one of these unique buildings/facilities,whatever.

Loads of work! Perhaps in SE VI...

There's formula functions for the data files that can check for a specific facility on a planet or a system (existing or queued). This allows for both one per planet or one per system facilities. Shouldn't be too hard to persuade MM for an empire wide versions as well. That alone would allow most of this idea to be modded.

I think the idea is to go farther - i.e. "one per galaxy" - whoever builds it first gets it uniquely, and no other empire can build it. There are a lot of such buildings in Civ and Galciv Eye-wink

This feature requires some more coding tbh. Like announcing the start and end of the "wonder" and clearing up the queues of the competitors after one is built. lots of work under the hood there...

Why not add wonders in the stock game with the expansion then?

well, announcing can be realized by script funcs "Sys_Empire_Politics_Create_Temporary_Message","Sys_Empire_Politics_Set_Message_Text","Sys_Empire_Politics_Send_Message".
and ideally, if script funcs may(?) affect another player construction queue by using "Sys_Get_List_Of_Players_Construction_Queues" and "Sys_Delete_Construction_Queue_Item" you can clear another player's obsolet facility.
