Space Empires V Editor 1.5

I've been working for a while on a mod editor for Space Empires V, and even though it's been out for over a year, it seems that not many people really know about it. So, in order to let a wider audience know, I figured I might as well make a post in this forum.

You can find more information about it at the project website (http://www.devnullsoftware.com/se5) or you can find it on this website as well (http://www.spaceempires5.com/en-US/project/SE5Editor). Both places have full information, downloads, screenshots, etc.

Any feedback on making the editor better would be greatly appreciated!

    • Tech Tree Viewer (including a save-to-XML feature)
    • Data Comparison Viewers (to compare changes between your mod and stock SEV or any other mod)

      • Component Enhancement Comparison Viewer
      • Facility Comparison Viewer
      • Tech Area Comparison Viewer
    • Weapon Comparison Tool (lots of statistics to help balance weapon damage)
    • Formula Graph Viewer
  • Allows editing of mod directories
  • Formula Wizard allows easy creation and validation of formulas as well as graphs
  • Data validation to prevent errors in data
  • Source code included! (written in C# using Visual Studio .NET 2005 and .Net 2.0)

Testing it right at this moment and i have to say it is a great program. But as you have expected this is the first time i have heard of this great tool. so THANK YOU for coding it!

I put up a bugfix version on my website (http://www.devnullsoftware.com/se5) that includes the missing source files as well as a bugfix for a couple of the comparison viewers.

Programs like this make the mod community more open to everyone. Great job.

Oh and by the way, anyplans to make an Ai editor?

Well, I made a half-hearted start at an AI script editor in the current tool, but then decided that I had better ways to spend the next year than writing a custom IDE. I'd suggest Visual Studio, SlickEdit, or some other text editor for the AI files.

Yes, I was hoping for an Ai editor that would have pull down menues to generate the script. but I guess the scripts are too complicated for that.

Just have to buckle down and learn the language...
