Suggestion for Balance Mod... |
Hey all!
First of all: to Captain Kwok, thanks so much for making Balance Mod! I love it as it is and I'd like to thank you for the effort you've made to make the stock game playable and enjoyable for the community. 
I've only recently started playing Balance Mod since it's more complete and comprehensive. Previously I was playing GidMod. One thing I miss though is the ship animations in the tactical combat view. In Gidmod, ships don't stop while turning, this IMO gives the combat a more energetic feel and improves the immersion. It's a very minor issue though, and has no bearing whatsoever on the gameplay... but it really helps in the immersion and that's still a big factor in this type of game. 
If you're not too busy, or putting in this feature (as seemingly unimpotant as it is) isn't too much of a hassle, could you please add it in the next version of Balance Mod? I'd do it for myself personally but alas, I don't know how
. If someone could please tell me how that would be excellent!
Again thank you for making Balance Mod and I hope you really consider my suggestion.

Does it affect the actual combat by changing those settings? or is it just Cosmetic?

Since you're adjusting deceleration behavior, combat results will definitely be effected. It will change the amount of time that ships stay in weapons range, etc...

Is there a link to the balance mod? I don't see it in the projects and downloads section on this site...

You may be able to modify this behavior yourself. Look in the "settings.txt" file for Balance Mod, and search for a line with the text "Combat Ship Minimum Turn Angle To Cause Deceleration." All of the relevant settings are in that small block. If you're not quite sure what you're doing then you can probably just copy & paste the whole block from GidMod.
