Coming out? |
So lets hear rumors of what you've heard about when the game is coming out here in the states. According to EBgames.com it's shipping on the 5th... well, the 5ths over and it still says it's shipping on the 5th. With any luck I'll wake up in the morning and go to the mail room (military base) and check my mail and it'll be there because I caughed up the extra money for next day delivery AND took leave to play the game like crazy.
Anyone else hear any rumors?
Anxiously awaiting the game!

Australian EB Games stores
Australian EB Games stores have already released Space Empires V.
Just more evidence that Australia secretly controls the world and soon to be, the universe...
shhhhhh
Remember we arn't meant to let them know we are in control. It will just deflate their ego's

Can get in the US
Ekolis has posted that you can get it in the US at EB stores...
-----
Their website still says "pre order".
I'll be heading to my local EB shortly, so I should be able to confirm either way.
Sad news
Hi everyone. First post ever. Totally new to the Space Empires universe, but I'd like to note that I called an EB in Syracuse, NY about thirty minutes ago and they claim that they didn't receive SEV in their shipment today. I'm hoping that's just a shipment delay problem, but it may be an indication that the 17th release date is, in fact, accurate and EB has cruelly misinformed all of us.
EB
I called my local EB store in the Detroit MI area and they said that they would probably not get any in unless someone came in and specifically reserved a copy. They don't plan on actually stocking it in the store.

The Official Release Date
The official release date is the 16th; however, it may trickle into stores a bit earlier. I don't think it will be in any stores today.

Your pain will be legendary even in Hell!

NEXT WEEK!!!!
*spews obscenities*
Great, so instead of getting to play SE5 into the wee hours of the morning, now I have to do a bunch of classwork over the weekend to ensure I have free time next week ....to play into the wee hours of the morning. So who screwed up with the shipping?

Not yet, in SC
Called my local GameStop where I pre-ordered and they said they might have it Monday, but didn't know for sure. Whenever I call or ask them about Space Empires, they always have a kind of "what game?" look on their faces.
Not in AZ.
EB has this really bizzare release date system, but the gist of it is- no stores in AZ have the game.

Curse of the "Is It Out Yet Zombies!" -or- Not in Las Vegas!
Feel like a game-store geekoid Zombie.
Nothing from EB-Games, but as stated, Date+1 usually works.
(Good observation as well Tesla!)
So, hopefully in shipment today.
Maybe saturday delivery?
Ya right, probably Tuesday.
Some official confirmation from Strategy First would be good.
Just wanted to join the fray.
When the formula fails
My local store (Portland OR) has always been good with release info, but all I have now is instructions to check back tomorrow. Luckily with the demo and tech flow chart I have enough Space Empire info to keep me satisfied.

SO MUCH FOR A FUN WEEKEND.
I ordered from EBGames. Tracking ups delivery and it says i should get it MONDAY. So much for spending this weekend playing the game. Guess i will have to actually work at work this weekend.

3-day shipping
I chose 3-day shipping... I can expect to get it on the 11th (I guess 6+3!=9). and form experiance, that means late at night on the 11th (usually they don't get it here untilll 7-8 local for some reason)
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those that understand binary, and those that don't.
I usually will buy online
I usually will buy online and have things shipped. But this time, in order to get it quicker, I tried the direct route, went to EB Games at the mall here.. (about 3 miles from the house).. and paid for mine pre-order today. Guys said it MIGHT be there tomorrow/today (Saturday the 7th) Will let you guys know if it comes in or not.
Thats in Tallahassee, Florida.. if you are keeping score at home

That's good news Wink, I'm
That's good news Wink, I'm in Miami myself.
Tilarium, you mentioned taking leave to play SE5? Ya don't need to do that, just stay up late playing every night, and feel like crap the next day at PT. Always worked for me

Hey, I think we preorderers
Hey, I think we preorderers can track where each other are located... type your zipcode into gamestop.com's product availability tracker for SE5 and see which stores have shipments on the way!
My zipcode is 45231... I'm having a copy sent to the one in Brentwood Plaza... I wonder who's in Ft. Wright, KY? Or Mason, OH? Or Franklin, OH? All locations within 30 miles of my zipcode... We should have a Space Empires party

Mr. Flibble says...
Game over, boys!

maybe Saturday
I paid for a copy at Gamestop Thursday 5th, and Friday they said it wasn't in the shipment. He hemmed and hawed around a bit, said there was only a note in their shipment box--didn't tell me what it said--but that it might come in Saturday afternoon.
According to their site, of the eleven EB/Gamestop stores within ten miles of my zip (Seattle/98125) only the one I paid has any on the way.
This gets me thinking if you pay them, and ask them to have a copy shipped to that store, it is actionable. Otherwise it might not make it onto your neighborhood shelf.

Space Empires has never been
Space Empires has never been a mainstream game so not many people know about it, aside from us loyal vets and a few others that are coming in to the SE scene now. SE V will probably get the word out and SE VI will be a bigger release.

Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum
Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe.

I just called my Gamestop
I just called my Gamestop (Miami/33157), they said they don't receive shipments on Saturday, so it looks like Monday at best.
For the poster that asks,
For the poster that asks, UPS indeed delivers on Columbus Day...
Only the USPS won't deliver on Columbus Day..

Not Saturday
Just checked back, and the GameStop in my area said that they had an internal tracking number for the shipment and everything, so it should have been there yesterday.
He also said it might be held up by a shipment of Final Fantasy games; that they would probably all come as one bundle to the store on Tuesday. He said they get shipments on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Which is different from the guy who said (somewhat unconvincingly) that it might come in on Saturday. It's also different from the guy who said he was looking through Friday's shipment, and only found a note.

Coming out?
The local EB Games has always defined the shipping date (what they post on the web) as the day it is shipped to individual stores. In other words the day before they will have it in the store. I've gotten into the habit of adding 1 to every shipping date. I hope it is there for you tomorrow.
