1.44 bugs

1. The minimap or the system ikons have a pink square around it.
2. In a system with a black hole there are gases and such circling around entering the black hole right? The first turn when i got to a black hole system i saw nothing. Not until the next turn did i see the gases circling around.

Emergency Propulsion still has no effect in Simulataneous Games.

It works if you order your ship to move two squares, then use the component, then move again. I use it all the time on short range colony ships cause it's cheaper than engines.

Tried using the component after moving 1,2,3,4 and 12 squares. Still no effect... What can I possibly be doing wrong?

After installing the patch 1.44(no mods/single player) enemy ships(transports/sat-layers/mine-layers) in orbit surrounding an enemy planet(which I am attacking) will do nothing. They won't retreat, won't attack, won't move.

I've encountered this same problem, although I'm using the latest Balance Mod (1.09?). And it's happened around both planets and warp points. I can chase the buggers all over the place and never catch them, but when they're in the same hex as a stellar body, they just sit there wait for me to blow them away.

In 1.44, ships (without weapons at least) using the unmodified "Do Not Get Hurt" strategy won't retreat automatically.

Re 2: this blach hole problem is standing from the beginning, but you not have to wait until the next turn, just klick an other system, and click back, and the circleing will appear.
other problems.
- I have a fleet with fighters. In a battle one of my carrier destroyed, then its fighers are became a fighter group. I don't able to recover this group, just in the transfer menu able to pick up them until the last one, and when I try move the last fighter to an other carrier it is crash the game.
- I have a fleet with fighters. In a battle all of my carrier destroyed, but I have some damaged fighter with no speed (damaged), the enemy only have ground defence, nobody move after my fleet is destroyed, but after the time is over, the game was crashed.
- I don't beleive my eyes, when I attack a planet and I have many fightes (maybe this is the problems root) the planet just jump over from the figters (form the center, to not far away), and they follow it and try to destroy. And this is not a fault, every object is stay his places, but the planet go to an other position.

other problems:
- I can see it, there is a try to repair the fleet name circleing, but it is not success, because now not after the finish alpha ..., then after beta ... give always Beta fleet name to the new fleet.
- This is a new bug group: I have more Fleets in one location, I emptiing a fleet in the fleet menu, and I try to delete it it cause crash the game. Ok I emptiing the a fleet and I quit the fleet manu I can see it: the empty fleet is deleted, but later, I go back to the fleet manu, I can see it that fleet is not deleted.
- I very happy, for the repair that problem, when I use more ship once (I mark more once), and I move them once and they able to begin a battle once. But if I try mark fleets, this is working with only one fleet, if I have two fleets I not able to begin a battle them, just if I unite them before. I can mark them, but they make each moves one after another.

I have a problem with my ships guarding a warp point not being able to see any enemy ships come through unless I have a long range scanners and a stealth sensor in that sector. Otherwise I look in the system after turn starts and there are enemy colony ships and entire fleets of ships that moved right by my ships that have just normal sensors. I can attack them in the system as normal but I hate giving up the advantage of defending the warp point. None of the ships had cloaking devices. This didn't happen with 1.33 BM8.

glock, the answer to that is that one kind of warp point now (the yellow one I think) is opaque to basic scanners. But everyone has to learn this the hard way, because it only shows up if you click on the warp point and then click Item Notes.

As for Black holes.... I've noticed in my playing that the game doesn't draw the black holes until you've seen the hex at the center. Kinda like how it doesn't draw planets you've never seen.

Regarding glockgemini's post, I have just found that in v1.44 + BM1.08 ships from another empire passed by mine which were sitting on the warp point. I have a treaty with this empire that declares non-agression in neutral space and these ships entered a system in which I have a colony and they don't. Also, the object report for the warp point did not include any visibility modifiers - they should have been plain and clear. I engaged them and saw that they didn't have any stealth armour nor cloaking devices. Something is definately not right here...

Look at the sector's abilities - it's likely the observed warp point are masking ships from basic sensors.
