Anyone else been playing SF while waiting for SEV? |
I've dug out my copy of starfury and have started playing that again until SEV comes out. I'm even thinking of modding a shipset and had a great idea to create a tonne of ships quickly and easily. Well actually it's being lazy, the idea was to make a load of ships based on elite ships (asp, python, krait, fer-de-lance etc) Without textures It would be easy to make loads of ships and give that lovely retro feel.

Star Fury
Too bad it never got the polish it needed. I'd hope that a Star Fury II wouldn't be so unloved. 
I'd also hope you could port your SE:V saved game into a star fury setting as well.

Star Fury and Forum Bug
First of all, it seems some italics command was messed up at some point.
Secondly, I liked Star Fury a lot. It was great being able to command a ship and fly around in the SE universe.
I would like SF2 to have empires that actually fight, and systems that change hands. Dynamic marketplaces, and all that great stuff. The basic mechanics in SF were wonderful, but if the few lacking things were improved, and placed in a dynamic galaxy, that would be awesome.

as well to more differ ship designs,units,parts & customizes of ur ship on a mod program(MOD SHIP FACTORY PROGRAM) or download extract & store then put in a ship folder & load/change it at a spaceyard. ;P

Tell you folks what, I loved SF when it came out, I was happy to have tried it out and fell in love with it. It saddened me to see the plethora of negative press it got from some gaming web sites. But, in the end, I did love it - the ability to be flying around the SE unvierse was awesome.
I agree with Thy Reaper - an SF2 with all of those fun add-ons would be worth the purchase.
