Sorry it is the stock version 1.35.
They are very Competitive. Just want to give it my best being a newbie

It will be hard to answer you if you don't give a little bit more information, like what mod are you using...
My advice would be, if you don't play with really good and competitive players, design your empire as you feel it, roleplay it a bit (even if it's only in your head), and have fun!
