Multiple mods?

Triumvir Ashen's picture
Submitted by Triumvir Ashen on Thu, 2007-06-28 13:32. Space Empires V FAQs

Is it possible to use multiple mods in a new game, or combine two in the same folder to use in a new game? Fyron's Quadrant Mod and Unnamed's Upgraded AI in this particular instance, as the normal systems are just rather dull without Fyron's additions and new graphics, and playing against the stock AI makes me feel like I'm kicking puppies. Spacepuppies. With guns.

You can only use one mod at a time, so any combined effort will need to manually combine the data files. In the case of FQM, it can be combined with most mods easily, since most mods don't do much to modify the planet/system/map data. Combining with Unnamed's AI mod is especially easy, since it doesn't make any data file changes. Smiling

* Create a "Unnamed + FQM" GameTypes folder.
* Copy in everything from FQM, then copy in everything from Unnamed's mod. Select yes to overwrite files.
* Then open the Mod_Definition.txt file and edit the name to something unique, like "Unnamed + FQM".
* Now play with that mod.

You can combine Fyons mod with other Mods both the IRM and BM have already done this

However the result will be an other Mod effectivly. best thing to do is to talk unnamed into doing it as it does make things pretyer & the quatrent Mod had no direct effect on game play.

Thanks, Fyron. Everything seems to be working smoothly. Honored to have a response directly from one of the authors of the mods in question. Smiling

My Longship mod includes FQM.
I'll be releasing it with the next patch.
