build rate.... |
If a planet has a production capability of 3500 and a facility cost is only rated at 1500 does that mean that two facilities can be produced in one turn?
Also.... I just started assimilating the game 3 days ago and yet I have only gotten as far as 8 turns before I scratch my head with another question that makes me restart. In those three days I have come to wonder how can a company that produces such a great game screw up so badly on the menuing?

an unoriginal signature
Re: build rate....
Not only that, but the things built in a given turn don't have to be the same thing.
Points will be spent each turn until either the queue is empty or the points run out. This means you could conceivably build a couple facilities, a couple satellites, a weapon platform and do a couple upgrades all on the same turn. (with a high enough space yard boosting that planet's build rate through the roof)
It's one of my favorite improvements over the other games in the turn-based-strategy genre.

Re: build rate....
However it seems to me if you re-order your build priority, and move something to the top of the queue, you lose the bonus points, and don't get them back, even if you move your item which was originally there back to the top.
Hope that makes sense...
Re: build rate....
The build queue has the capability of building even amounts of all three resources. So if you have something that is 2500/500/1000 and 500/2000/1500 could be built in the same turn.
Unlike SE4 which would lose any leftover points in a build turn, SE5 will start building part of the next item with the leftover points. Unfortunately, the build menu has no way of identifying this, showing 1 turn this and 2 turns that when both items could be built in just 2 turns.

Re: build rate....
it's a kind of hand-made game (no offence) nobody's perfect,
I keep on learning and hoping ...and strangely enjoying it.
Well, I haven't lost a game either... some say it's not possible to lose in this game, not much of an aggresive AI
(that's the hoping part) Hey! I'm here, come'n get me!
I guess it's like wine, give it time.
and the answer is yes
