Battle of Grousie
By Adam Milton

Captain Darren Price – Log – 2443.4
If I told you the first engagement, the battle of Grousie, was easy, or forgettable I would have been lying. If I told you I thought it was because of the hell I had been through in the last few months made the battle of Grousie pale in comparison that would be true.
The Jraenar attacked a research and development station at the very edge of the Altar system. Within a few minutes 20 scientists and a engineers were vaporized.
Admiral Wagner had positioned us outside of the Grousie system. As soon as we found this out we jumped into the system, guns blazing.
Intelligence was wrong.
They system had one carrier, and three dreadnoughts protecting it and what we thought were cruisers. We set up defensive positions around the Tiger as it launched wave after wave of fighter. Soon, in the void between the two mighty fleets, the fighters chewed each other up. Shooting and dodging each other, moving at speeds and having g-forces pushed into them. The Battle Net was hectic, fighter squad leaders giving ordered. The last dieing screams of fallen pilots.
As the fighters were recalled to be refueled, and rearmed, the Dreadnoughts and Battleships moved in. That’s when we realized that the Cruisers were not your typical cruisers. They moved faster, had more armor and many more weapons, many more powerful weapons. They began to deal heavy amounts of damage to the Washington. Then their Dreadnoughts opened up, with a barrage of beam fire and missiles. The Capricorn and Cooper opened fire, as did the Washington.
Quickly the battle was over. We had wiped out all of their forces and destroyed the shipyard that we had intended to.
We lost the Washington, 5 light cruisers including the Hero and Majestic and the Able and Cooper and 3 fighter wings. Every ship had damage, but the Turner’s engines 4-6 were threatening to overload and the Yorktown was leaking oxygen. We limped back to the Warp Point where we were ordered to hold until repair ships could meet us. Repair crews did their best but the Turner and Yorktown needed dry dock, badly. The Turner managed to shutdown its engines and float in space. The Yorktown never was able to lock down the leak and her surviving crew was moved to other ships.
It was two weeks before our battle information was digested and sent back. The cruisers we encountered were new classes of ships. They were slightly bigger than Cruisers and had much more armor slots and more space for weapons. hitting them would be a problem. They were fast attack craft that we had never seen before.

These stories are leading up a Mod I have started working on. It is so new that a working version is not ready. I hope that before the 15th of June I should have an alpha version working.
Who knows.
