Preveiw of the BSG MOD!

*Pauses to dust off thread*

As some of you know, we have another modders forum, which means that most of the work isn't done here...
However heres what we are planing, or already have complete:

New Ship Types.
Isopyco has whipped up a bunch of different models, meaning that we will have more ship types.

Fighters:

There are now 5 kinds of fighters: Stealth Fighters, Support Craft, Small, Medium, And Large.

Extractors:

There are now special Extractor ships: Minerals, Radioactives, Organics, and I put construction in there too.

Transports and Freighters:

The Transports are on the left, the Freighters are on the right.

New System Design.
The Bsg Mod will also feature a new system organisation.
Systems will Now have A super Gigantic planet in the middle, with moons orbiting them. These "Planet-Areas" will be arranged around a central point, which will have a GINORMIS SUN!!!. So a Solar system now spans several of the "old systems".
We will attempt to rename the warp points as "Jump Points" to simulate the BSG FTL Drives.

Because of the Limitations by the seires in terms of Alien life, most likely the only breathable atmosphere will be air, and rock planets as start locations. However, there will be a focus on terriforming all those moons and planets to your atmosphere.

Most Likely, Planets will be like this:
Rock: Medium size, with few moons.
Ice: Smaller size, with few moons.
Gas: The Technology for colonizing gas giants will most likely be a later game tech: Gas giant colonies (As there will be able to be several per planet) have less facility space.(We'll try anyways) But the immence Gravity of Gas Giants means Lots of Ice and rock moons to be exploited.

Unique Tech Trees.
The Cylon, Colonial, and Earthers will all have unique tech trees. So the Cylons will be able to use different tech than the colonials, while the Earthers will use different techs as well.

Customization.
During the first releases of the Mod, There will only be three shipsets. However, there will be many different portraits, representing Different colonies, different cylon factions, and perhaps different nations from earth. Likewise, many flags will be available to further customize your Colony/Faction/Nation. Later in the mod, there is a possibility of shipsets that vary slightly from one another, So that you don't just have to pick the same colonial shipset, Perhaps there will be one with flames down the sides.

Music
The Mod may have BSG music samples incorperated into it: At least the modders copies do. However, questionable legality issues so...You'll have to wait.

Big Ship, Little Ship.
Another feature of the BSG mod will be seperate components for the Cap ships, and for the smaller ships. Smaller ship weapons do less damage, armor is weaker, but they are alot cheaper than the Cap ships, who have accsess to the strongest weapons.

I like the idea of the special extractor ships. They can grow with the cargo ships and all (small, medium, large... minimum crewing..).

Just click on index, and then that will take you to a page. Then click the SE.net portal. You can try typing it in yourself too...

To fix the link, just remove the period at the end.

The mod looks great, but are you designing an AI? I have an excruciatingly slow dial-up connection (26.4-44.0 kbps), so I am not able to play multi player. If there is no AI, it would be impractical for me to use this mod.

The mod will have an AI (I like to play solo), matter of fact its based off the IRM mod I just have to tweak the different techs and ship types and make th Cylon way aggressive Smiling
