Moons

They are there, but they orbit at one hex distance now instead of in the same square.

Moons at one Hex?

Submitted by StarHunter5 on Mon, 2006-10-02 11:01.

At the scale of the solar system, a moon at 1 hex sounds like it would be very far from the planet it is orbiting.
Probably to far out to be effected (much) by the gravity of the planet it is orbiting.

There are no moons. Which is disapointing since they made expansion easier in a lot of ways.

Sure, you end up with some planets one hex off from others, but they are not moons - they have their own names seperate from that of the planet they are near.

There are moons...

Phoenix-D is correct. They are technically moons because they are attached to the planet in the data files - but they are added in the next hex so it doesn't look like it. However, it is also possible to have moons in the same sector - which is fine with the exception of some cheesy tactics like stacking multiple training facilities etc.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking of. The scale of the system. Is the system size moddable in the full game?

Yes, it is

Simple enough- just need to edit three lines in settings.txt, and make new solar systems that take the new size into account.
