3 questions from a newbie |
Hi, I just d/led SE:V from steam this week and I love the game (especially w/ balance mod), but I have a couple questions about things I still can't figure out.
1. Is there anyway to prevent the AI from queuing up ships on my mobile construction yards (ships w/ space yard) while keeping the AI building ships on my planets? It is such a pain removing ships every turn from my mobile CYs because it makes my ships stationary since you can't move mobile CYs while they're building. I have way too many planets to worry about ship buildings in general. Yes, I do queue up future fleets that I need, but in general the AI does a decent jobs of pumping different units for my to deploy, so i don't care about that too much.
2. What do the icons on the minimap mean? Well, I think I know. The round circle means a system you completely control, the crosshair is one where enemies are or are in conflict between you and an enemy, and the explosion is a system you haven't explored or colonized.
3. Is there any way to toggle planets to display their last known owner? It's so annoying looking at empty star systems trying to remember where enemy bases are. Even if they're no longer the owner of the planet, why is it so wrong for my empire to make maps of where the enemies last know locations were? Seems trivial to me.
thanks.

2) Pretty much; round is for a system with something of yours in it, and nothing hostile; the cross is a system with a known hostile presence (which generally means you have to have something there to see it, see 3); and the star is everything else.
3) No, and this is a common complaint. Suffice it to say that doing so supposedly requires fundamental changes to the way the game does stuff; people have been asking for this for a long time but it's not likely to change anytime soon.
