I snuck in an application. But I hope you can set the turn time to 36 hours instead of 24. With the multiple timezones 24 is tricky.

Yep - agree with Myrath ... I am in Europe with a timezone of GMT+2.

Any objection to starting with 3 Good worlds instead of 1 ? ... Slightly quicker startup that way ...

No objections on my side. Considering the multiple opponents that may indeed be a preferable setup.

What are we doing re: tech start levels ?

If it's 5-6 player game I'd prefer a 500,000 Technology Point Start (Medium?) and a Medium technology Cost - It's going to be a long game anyway; this allows for a quick start up and some heavily specialisation from the start, which makes for some interesting strategies..

But - i'll go with the Majority, whatever the settings

I'm in favor of keeping it like that. My lost multiplayer game started from scratch, and I must say, this led to very interesting gameplay.

The tech is Medium cost right? You don't give any information on the cost? That is required for building an empire.

Perhaps you can send a .gsu file?

Medium Galaxy Size should work OK .. Otherwise it'll potentially be a very long game

I'm generating some maps at the moment to look at how 6 players can be accomodated.

Considering the rather large number of players in a cramped space I'm in favor of the Paradise setting. It has a few advantages.
- It is nicely spread out (not cramped)
- evenly spread (not like spiral arms with 2 ends..), so enough spots for 6 players
- No Bad systems. Enough worlds for all.

So; Medium sized; nice & enough worlds, and good spots.

I've prepared 3 paradise maps for the admin; I'll mail it to him this eve. Let him pick. I've tried to spread the empires evenly throughout the map and to put them at about equal distance and give about equal oppurtunity.

I'd prefer Paradise too .. it'll be no fun for someone starting in a bad position, and potentially just end up with a dead player, which itself can advantage other players nearby (more space to expand unhindered)

BTW - I believe Paradise has asteroid filled systems too....

Score display will be own right?

Yes, I know, I find it much better to have score display set to own only because you don't really know what your up against.

There are times though, when you want to know how you rank in the galactic order...

You can always see that. Although you can;t see much graphs you can still see your rank.. So you know when you fall behind

Hopefully we can get started before the weekend now that the patch is out. I can't wait, this should be a very fun game.

I'll need to wait for STEAM; And ofcourse for PBEM. Glad the official patch is here. Let's hope all will be up and running soon.
Although with the new custom error codes PBEM may do some extra study, I guess.

Captain Kwok said he will try to get the new BM out by tomorrow or Friday, so hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.

This might not be entirely on topic, but i'm thinking of trying PBW, actualy i already joined a game on pbw website (it hasnt started yet though), and now i have a question, if i start a pbw game with v1.33, can i continue playing that game after updating to 1,35 or would that screw up my game? i'd like to try mp, soon preferably, but it'll probably be some time before some games with .35 appear and they take time to gather players, on the other hand .35 has some nice fixes that i'd like, like the memory leak fix, so any advice anyone?

Well if your current game hasn't started yet you might as well wait for PBW to upgrade to 1.35, it shouldn't take long. Also, if you want you can make a mod folder named 1.33 and copy the 1.33 stuff and the exe over into it and then just use that exe when you want to play 1.33.

Thanks Tak, it would be much appreciated. I tried following some of the Tutorials over at SE.Net, but couldn't quite figure things out around them.

On another note, has anyone tried the new patch? I've run into quite an interesting Bug, and I don't know if its based around just my system, or not.

I'll post a link in a minute. But put short, Research seems to have been borked badly. On the first turn, I had 65,000% Research, and by the 4th turn, I had Tech 2 Tectonic Bombs in Stock Tech.

Anyone else having issues?

I patched to 1.35 and I think it still works fine for me. I just uploaded my turn for another PBW game and it is fine, or at least I hope.

I'd like to wait for sure for the next bm.

I'd like to sign up for a PBW game - I'm reliable and quick but a bit new to SEV PBW having only player single player so far.

Jeez, it's so boring without my daily dose of SEV turns anymore, my KOTH game finished and I'm waiting for a new opponent and my other PBW games are going slowly.
