Chronicles of the Huyok

Hi.

This is going to be a record of a game I just started. I've played many games of SEV but never sat through an entire game, and hopefully this one will be the first.
It's going to be about a Race called the Huyok, of the Rising sun Imperium.

Note on Races: Every race that I have ever created all "live" in the same universe. Heres a quick backstory: 10,000 years before 2400.00 (game start date) The galaxy was dominated by a race of Humans named the Lemurians. An unknown event cause the Lemurian Empire to colapse, and most of their technology was lost, except for those stored in vaults. (Ruins). A few colonies survived like Earth, Kassak, and Algasia, (Kassak and Algasia are human races) But these colonies reverted to a primitive state. Now the Huyok were a race that was created by the Lemurians as a warrior race to compliment their armies. The Huyok in this game were on a ship in stasis with a failed hyper-drive system (The lemurians had just invented hyper drive at the peak of their power) and the ship decelerated, causing the rest of the crew to enter stasis as well. They arrived in a system 8000 years later, and set up a colony on a rock planet. An unknown disaster caused the Huyok to leave the planet, but for some reason their human masters never made the exodis. The ship or "ark" as they call it, arrived on a planet nearby, and icy hydrogen world. They huyok were bred to breath all types of atmosphere, but after a while the huyok became adapted to their planet and lost the ability to breath other atmospheres. Once they arived, they too reverted to a primitive state, and develouped a society revolving around warship their many gods (lemurian humans), who they beleive were a seperate race that built the entire universe. They worship the stars as power symbols of the gods, and a new imperium rose just as they entered space for the first time. This will be a story written from the perspective of Rasha'aramade, a simple Huyok given the task of recording The rising star Imperium as they begin their journy into space.

Whew. Laughing out loud
Any way, I'll post the stats of the Rising Star Imperium shortly. Thanks for reading this far. And if you did'nt, well, not much I can do! Laughing out loud

Ok heres the map of the system:

Im in the Far right upper corner "Island" so to speak.

The Huyok is a monarchy ruled by Emperor Haran and his court, as well as the Preist hood. They are Smart, Builders, Brave, and also have Hardy Industrialists and Deeply religious. They also have: Negative refining bonus, and Enviromental Weakness.

A Huyok Zealot
They have a warrior Society. Their society is ruled by two classes: The Warriors (From their creation by the Lemurians) and the Zealots. (Preists).
I'm using the Phong Shipset, and the Orange and yellow flag. (You'll see it later)
I hope to be able to start soon.

"And the Gods Spoke unto the Huyok: Travel fourth from here, and carry the Legacy of the Gods with thee."
The First Prophet
Speaking of the Exodus of Eval

I gazed at the massive buildings as the car sped down Victory Lane. The very same lane that the Imperium's armies had come down 100 years ago, marking the defeat of the old order. Since then the Imperium had determined to make this the grandest city of the Huyok, and renamed it the City of Glory. The massive illuminated towers were truly the tallest and most beautifull towers that I had ever seen. The car stopped in front of the Imperial Palace. An Honor Guard came out, two of his arms opened the door, the other two griping his meason pulse lance. He greeted me, and slithered with me to the massive doors of the palace, where two more Honor Guard opened it. We entered, and he guided me down the seemingly endless halls of the palace. We finaly emerged upon a giant room, where the emperor himself stood. I imediatly bent down to the floor, making myself as low as possible. The Emperor laughed.
"Rise my child." he said.
Then he asked: "Do you know why you are here?"
"No, your majesty." I replied.
"I read your book. The one about the Rise of the Imperium."
"I am honored that his majesty would read my book."
"I think that someone who has so carefully researched the imperium should write another book: But not one about history. One about the our own times!"
I stood there confused.
"As you know, our first colony ship will leave the planet in a few months. You, Rasha'aramade, will write a first person acount, an acount of the begining of the journey of the Huyok!"
"I am honored sir, but I know nothing of space travel..."
He reached out his arm to mine.
"We, the Huyok are about to journey into the stars, as the gods told us over 3000 years ago. The next few years are bound to be full of events that will suprise us all. I want a Chronicle, a Chronicle of your adventure, as you make, not just learn history. You will have acess to almost all of our spacecraft. You, Rasha'aramade, are about to be part of history!"
I was shocked! Me, in space! Recording the great deads of countless Huyok?
"I am once more honored, your majesty. I will do the very best that I can."
The Emperor laughed again.
"You will do fine, my friend."
I almost passed out.

The next few months literaly flew by as I was prepared for space travel. Rigorous training, and fitness test occupied most of my days. And in 2 months, I found my self in the center of the City of Glory, Standing upon a podium, next to the crew of the very first colony ship. All around, many Huyok stood cheering, as fireworks went off in the background. I felt excited. The emperor himself spoke at the ceromony. We feasted for an entire night, and the next day we drove out to the shuttle launch site.

The Imperial Plaza, on the Great Day of Celebration

It is here that I now write, eagerly awaiting the day when we blast off to join the countless colonists currently orbiting the planet.

"The First casualty of Fear is Inovation. The second is your heart. Fly high on wings of hope, don't drown in a sea of Despair."
-Gahuyok'nelden
Inventor of the AeroShip
2273, ST (Standard Date)

The Nikzad system, our home

The entire crew boarded the shuttle. I moved to my seat in the clumsy suit that I wore, and strapped myself in. We waited for what seemed to be hours, untill a voice came on over the radio;
"Begin engine preps."
So this was it. I would either be blasted into space, or blasted into bits. My seat was just behind the co-piolot's seat, so I could see out the window. 15 minuets later, they initiated final check. And then the engines started. The Shuttle rumbled. The engines roared so loudly that I could hear it through my suit. "Shuttle First-Star, You are cleared for launch."
And then I was flung back into my seat. I wrapped all four of my arms around the seat arms. And after a good 30 minuets of this rumbling, it stopped. And I saw an endless ocean of space. I felt floaty. I could see our planet below, but I still feared that we would explode. Then the piolot anounced:
"Alright, Suits off. You can move around now." I unbuckled myself, and I began to float towards the ceiling.
"Ack!" I said.
The Captain Propeled himself over to me.
"You'll get the hang of it." and then he slapped my shoulder, sending me towards a hand hold.
I tried moving around in my new enviroment, and after 10 minnuets, I had the hang of it. It was actually easier moving around, and by swinging and snaking my body to the handholds, I could easily navigate. About 15 minnuets later, The piolot anounced that we were nearing the colony ship. I slithered my way up to the cockpit, and glanced out the window. I saw the construction yard. The colony ship was drifting off a way's from the shipyard. Another colony ship was already under construction, and the skeleton of a scout ship was being pulled together. In about 4 months, both would be complete.

The first colony ship of the Huyok, Home-Star

The shuttle docked with the front of the colony ship, and the rest of the crew moved into the colony ship. I was the second to last out, and the shuttle piolot said to the captain, "Good luck, sir." The captain and I moved through the tunnel and into the ship.
"Beautiful ship eh,Rasha?" he asked me.
"Yes sir" I replied
Later I would learn that the crew section occupied some three levels, and had about 20 different rooms. The Colonists were frozen in the ring around the ship, and the whole ship was designed to detatch and form the colony's main structure. The Shuttle detatched itself from the colony ship, and began moving away. I slowly navigated the crew section, untill I found my room. It was a small room, a closet really, but it had a sleeping pack mounted on the wall, and a terminal on the side. I went over to the terminal, and examined it's functions. The Manager, who would be in charge of the colony once it was constructed, Moved to my door.
"Hey Chronicler," he said, "Captain want's everybody on the bridge. Message from the homeworld." We went to the bridge together, and we chatted a little bit. His name was Fulok'ne, and he grew up in a little town outside the City of Glory. Apparently he had even been the mayor, and had a Wife and two Kids. I told him about my book, and my own town, but before I could finsih we arrived at the bridge. When we got there, the emperors face filled a screen. It is very hard to bow in zero-gravity, but I managed it somehow. The emperor wore a broad smile.
"Today, my fellow Huyok, we begin a journey. A journey that will eventually bring the Huyok amoung the stars, and advance the power of the Gods. You bring with you to your new colony not only hope, but the will of the Gods. Be safe my children, and may the Gods shine on your souls." Then he cut out, and a Space Command official came on the screen. "You will depart in 5 hours. Good luck out there." and then he cut out.
The captain spoke. "Get four hours sleep, then meet back here."
I wore a smile on the way back to my room, and right as I drifted off to sleep, I realised that I was apart of something huge. I was a memeber of the great journey.

Construction is a richman's pursuit. Now engineering, thats an art.
-Tyoul'fasri
Chief Engineer of the City of Glory

The entire crew had gathered around the bridge veiwport. After a two month journey, we could finaly see our goal in sight.
"Alright. We are directly above colony alpha site. Begin Colonization procedures now." said the Captain.
"Begining sequence now. Lets hope this thing works. Otherwise...."
There was a massive shutter. "Colony base ring is detatching." We all watched as moments later, the massive ring that surrounded our colony ship detached from the ship and began moving towards the planet. It was an ammazing sight to be sure, as it entered the atmosphere, and then eventually disapeared under the clouds.
"We are receiving imaging from the rovers on the ground, its right....got it." An image apeared on the screen, as the giant ring, carrying the colonists, decended, using rockets and parachuets to slow its fall. The whole process took over two hours, but I watched, mesmorized, the whole time. Then as the ring settled, massive poles arose out of the ring, rising higher and higher, till they all went in towards the middle and met at a point. The complex weaving of the structure created large hexes. Later, some of the colonists would be dethawed, and they would work the massive clear panels that would contain the atmosphere for the central city into those hexes.
"Launching Supply Pods. Stand by."
The two pods detatched themselves from the side of the ship, and also moved towards the planet. Another half an hour later, they settled themselves next to the ring around the city, and attached themselves using tubes.
"Hey Chronicler." said the captain, "Come here."
I pushed myself off the wall and over to the captain.
"Looks like you've got some new orders. Homeworld wants you to move to this sector." He showed me a map.
"There is nothing there..." I replied.
"Homeworld thinks there is. They just finished the first proto-star class. Apparently you are going to that ship. I'll send a pilot with you. Uiop'fas. He's good with a stick. Pack your things and get to one of the shuttles."
I packed my things, and when I went got to the shuttle, I was greeted by most of the crew. Uiop and I said our goodbyes, and shook arms with most everyone there. Uiop and I boarded the shuttle, and he easied the shuttle out of the bay. "Good luck Chronicler" said the captain over the radio. The remains of the colony ship began to enter the atmosphere, to join with the rest of the colony. It was going to be at least a week, and a cramped one at that, but I was happy just knowing that I had just seen the begining of the first colony of the Huyok.

"Enter the Maelstrom with confidence, lest it will consume you, body and soul"
-Hasiki'vonelan
First sailor to map the Fuyt Straight
2089 ST

The small shuttle that Uiop and I shared was quite small. It had a two seat cockpit, and a single sleeping room in the back. It was triangle shaped. Small though it was, it was the fastest ship that we had, capable of crossing the entire system in less than a week. It was a direct decendant from the shuttles that the Colonial survey teams used. Uiop and I would pass the time talking, and I learned much from him. He had no family to speak of, and had joined the Space program less than three years ago. He had flown jets for the airforce, and had adapted as a space pilot quite well. He had read my book, but he disregarded it as a propaganda peice for the Imperium. We argued for hours that first day in the shuttle. Eventually I learned that he had problems with the Imperium government, and the Priesthood. He would'nt tell me why, but he did tell me he was an atheist. After that first day we got along quite well. We playedYo'fsal, using a board that he had taken with him in his belongings. He evan taught me a bit about flying the shuttle, so that he could sleep his few hours while I flew. Finaly we reached our destinatination. And I was shocked. A spining cloud of purple energy sat before our window. Uiop was shocked too.

The First Proto-Star, Galiant
Then we saw the Proto-star. Uiop moved us towards it, and we docked with the ship. It had a small bay underneath, with space for four shuttles. I propelled my self out the arilock, and right before I entered the proto-star, I "Fell". The force carried me back down into the airlock. The Huyok up top unfurled a ladder, which started floating a part way down. I propelled myslef, and then grabbed the ladder. Once I got to the top, I was greeted by several Uniformed Huyok, and The captain of this proto-star. He shook one of my arms, and said that his name was terik'sul. He explained that the ship was equiped with a gravity feild, and so we would be able to move normaly. Uiop followed behind as I slithered with Captain Terik. He explained that the ship was armed with 6 Meason blasters, and very thick armor. I asked him why we needed a warship, and he simply responded, "Because the Prophets said so". Uiop sniggered, and I looked sharply back at him. When we reached the bridge, the captain told me what we were to do. We were to enter that swirling Maelstrom. He said that they were called God-points; a path left for us by the gods.
"I don't think it looks navigable." I replied.
"Well the scientists said we could chronicler, and I'm going to trust them."
I didn't like Captain Terik. I felt that he was the kind who did what he was told, lacking immagination, and quick thinking. Obviously, Uiop shared my opinon.
"Well strap yourselves in, we are about to start our approach."
I groaned.
Uiop and I took a seat towards the back of the bridge. We felt the ship start to move, and the God-Point grew closer and closer. And then we hit the thing. The ship shook violently. Uiop had his eyes completly shut. Out of the veiwport, I could see us weaving and banking in a purpleish tunnel. And then it was gone. We exited the god-point, and emerged into a mass of green clouds.
"Sir, these clouds are causing a lot of sensor interfearance." Said a crew man.
"Well we've got to map it at least. Move us forward, right into it.
"Yes sir, Engines runing hot at 70% max."
The next month was very strange. The nebuela, while very beautifull, was a navigational night-mare. We lost track of the God-point twice. we just driffted around for two months, mapping and mapping...We were joined by another proto-star,
DeviantAnd a second colony ship. They reported that another colony had been established back home, and that they were to continue to help us map the system.
We spent Four months in that Gods-saken nebuela, and decided to name it Mithril, after the God of missfortune. We did however, find a second a second God-Point. We now stand orbiting it, preparing to once again enter the Maelstrom.

Sorry for the lack of new content. I hope to be writing more soon. However, I'm worried. This game is on 1.33 with BM 1.05. If I patch my computer up to 1.35 and 1.06, will I be able to continue?

I'm sure patching up to 1.35 will work fine but not sure about 1.06 BM.
