AI doesn't accumulate ships in fleet |
hi all!
i'm novice in SE game series. after moo2 SEV is a first game i played 2 nights long
now i'm far from finishing even my 1st game but there are some questions for modders already 
1. is it possible to force AI fleet minister to accumulate ships in fleets instead of sending each of them alone to perform tasks? such as exploring new system etc.
it was very annoying to resolve numerous battles during every turn with one enemy AI ship trying to get through warp point guarded by little number of my satellites. anyway, using as more as possible ships in single fleet is better. In other case it's just wasting time and resourses for AI to use one ship.
2. sometimes enemy infiltrates in my system without battle in warp point guarded by satellites. satellite sensor was 3rd level, enemy used 1st level. 1 on 1 sensor. enemy has not cloaking component. is it a bug or i missed some game rules?
3. it's a very much time needed to convert atmosphere using facility(forgot exact name) researched in planet utilization tech. imho 2.0 "years" for the 1st level facility is enough. 10.0 "years" means "never" and makes no reason to research and construct this facility.

PS and it seems very starnge for me that constructing fighters is more advanced tech than constructing frigates...

i heard about modder's guide in game folder. haven't open it yet. does it contain all functions/system variables and its syntax? does it explain language structure? if does not, could you please give a link where i can find such manual
maybe i'll be a little help :)
From my knowledge, there is no complete manual about SE5 modding, you will have to learn by searching the forum and some trial and error. Also some of us in this Forum know part of the code better than the rest. SE5 is a complicated and huge game, no one here know everything about it.

The explore and survey function are meant for lone ships. The AI don't have the resources to send whole fleets for task that can be done with a single ship. Besides, it's not wise to send you fleet to visit the galaxy when an enemy fleet could come and strike you undefended homeworld.
Some warp points allow incoming fleets to bypass warp point defenses. It's a feature of FQM5.

It's not more strange than currently having space shuttles and no space fighters in RL. Thanks for using my mod. Keep in mind it is still beta though, there are incomplete features and imbalance. The AI is better than stock, but there are still quirks in it that make it less challenging than it should be.
