Which intel project steals tech?

Submitted by Brad on Sat, 2007-04-14 15:55. Space Empires V FAQs

Subject pretty much covers it. Which project do you focus on to steal enemy tech?

I've stolen tech before, but I don't remember which intel type I was using. I also don't remember if I was playing the stock game or Balance Mod.

Sorry that's not helpful... but at least I know it can be done.

In Balance Mod

AS61 - Sabotage - Empire Wide
AS58(3)
0:10/10,000
└(1) IPR: Points Change
└(1) IPR: Points Stolen
└(1) IPR: Research Stolen
└(1) IPR: Research Lost
└(1) IPR: Intel Points Lost

Should also be the same in Stock.

This tech only gives you a bonus to those areas. You can normally use it from lvl 0...

According to the description of "Espionage: Empire Wide" you can steal tech from other empires. So, I imagine that the greater your Espionage: Empire Wide technology level is, the easier you can steal tech as well as plans, etc.

This just seems logical to me. I've got Level 2 E:EW and steal tech about once a game-year.

I find those research fields not really effective. With only 1% per level it's more interesting to upgrade your Intel Centers (10% per level). It's a bit like Applied research and Mathematics...
