Retail 1.33 Question before purchase

I think they mean "retail" as in "not-demo". The downloaded version works just the same as the version you'd get in a box. Unless you mean downloading from Steam. Then apparently you don't have a choice about when you patch (it gets patched automatically as soon as the patch is available), which can be a bit of a problem in multi-player games. Or if a savegame-breaking patch comes out, but hopefully we're done with those by now.

Suction feet are not to be trifled with!

The patches listed as retail are for the CD version and the download from Digital river. Steam as ever does its own thing and the game will auto update usialy after the other patch has come out. Unless you have gone to the trouble to turn them off which most steam users dont. That however is only a problem with save breaking patches (the days of which should be numbered) and multiplayer games. Steam is also owing to the length of the path mostly slightly more fiddly to apply mods to.

Personaly I would go for the CD version but I like buying objects not data streams

If you are asking if STEAM is patched to 1.33; It deffinitly is.
