HowTo: Not auto-launch satelites? |
Hi all,
in my latest game i equipped all colony ships with a weapon, a satellite bay and a satellite equipped with weapon and scanner for early colony support.
These can take out small enemy colonies, but... the colony ship will drop the satellite at the beginning of the combat, and then head to the planet alone. The satellites firepower would be more helpfull if dropped near the planet.
How do i tell the colony ship NOT to drop the satellite in far space?

But then they will not launch them at all.
Re: HowTo: Not auto-launch satelites?
If it's true that turning off auto-launch in the strategy selector, then this is a bug that needs to be fixed so that auto launching is permanently turned off and made so that launching of fighters, mines, sats, and drones is a manual function.

Equip cargo bays instead
If you want your satellites deployed next to the planet, skip the sat bays and load them into cargo bays instead. After you colonize deploy them from the planet.

Re: HowTo: Not auto-launch satelites?
You set the stratagies to not deploy automatically, then you deploy them hand during combat. fly your ship where you want it, and then hit the deploy button. (I haven't done this so I may be wrong, but this is what I think).
SEV, more than a feeling.

Re: HowTo: Not auto-launch satelites?
You can edit the strategies to turn auto-launching off.
