Aaron, the retrofit bug is STILL NOT fixed!

Submitted by goodship01 on Fri, 2007-03-30 01:18. Space Empires V General

Full details on the retrofit bug can be found here: http://spaceempires5.com/en-US/node/2551

I see in the history.txt the changes up to 1.33 but i still cannot see any fix to the retrofit bug.

I already sent an email to but no one responds

Could anyone help me?

I think you need to contact MM again as in my experiance he does reply and Captain Kwock recomends light harrasment as an encouragement

The events you discribe might be somthing specific to the way you upgrade your ships as its a method most people dont use. I generaly redesign my ships regularly and leave upgrading to the refit minister and have not had any isues with refiting either before or after 1.33

I would sugest that as a work round and note it also has the advantage of retaining the ships name

Well i never use ministers because i want absolute control of the empire and ships (i dun want ships to suddenly leave when the enemy is here)

Then again, doesn't this mean simply not naming it exactly the same as the old ship will solve the problem? That or go to Settings.txt and push up the "can't retrofit if new design is X% more expensive" to beyond 50% (I usually have it at 125% or such and leave it to my conscience to not abuse it).

Playing Touhou games (Go here if interested . No, nobody else is that good/insane as that replay). No rush for SE V bug fixing.

I turn the Refit Minister off in wartime but generaly I prefer to have my ships refited without my needing to micromanage it the same way I use the population and colonization ministers.
