Combat resolution speed in simultaneous turns game (MP) |
A while back, there were reports of an unintended feature in which a ship's combat performance was effected by the speed of combat (e.g. 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x time).
Do we know what speed simultaneous turn combat is run at? This would be good to know so I can run combat simulations at the proper speeds.
Anyone have a clue on this one?
Re: Combat resolution speed in simultaneous turns game (MP)
It will, but only in Strategic mode. That'll let you see the outcome, but not the fight itself..
Real Combat speeds haven't gone up much
AI empire turns that were taking a total of 30 mins around turn 60 in 1.25/BM1.04, are now already at 10 mins at turn 12 in 1.31/BM1.5.
I expect them to worsen as them game progresses.

If you have a slower computer then it's unlikely the patch will actually help combat speeds much, since the combats might be pressing the limits of the CPU even at 8x speed, depending on the number of ships involved.
What CPU are you getting 10 minutes processing times with glockgemini?

One point worth remembering x16 & x32 speeds are not to be found in tactical combat and I belive AI v AI fights now use x32 Certainly the red bars shoot accross the turn screen now

Re: Combat resolution speed in simultaneous turns game (MP)
I think in 1.33 it's run at 32x...
