My wife, though I love her, just threw away my serial for the game. I still have it installed however I know I will need it someday. Is there any way to get my serial from an installed game?

There is no way to get the Serial number back, but it is stored in the registry in encrypted form. If you extract this regitry-key to a reg file, you can import it later again. Also, SEV does not remove this registry key when uninstalled, so this procedure should only be needed when you do a complete system wipe or you want to play the game on another computer.
