Feature Request for the return of the Physical Characteristics and Vocation Aptitudes menu. For those unfamiliar with this, here's a pic:

I agree at 100%. I was VERY disappointed this was not carried over to SE5. You could make really unique races using that tool!

uhm, you can give your own created race all the differences from the currently possible traits that you can buy. well you can´t change the number of the effect, i.e. giving a bonus of 25% or 35% to space yard production, but they are all there.
i think it may also not be best for the balance of the game. with the old menue you could change the traits of your race very far.

just my 2 cent, and no offense...i liked the menue in SEIV too Smiling

Forgoten about that just shows how long it is since my SEIV disk went west but I dont think it would fit into the curent game all that well. however given how Modable the game is I dont see why new racial traits might not be added to achive much the same effect.

I am going to slap the origional poster as it looks like I am going to have to replace my copy of SEIV now. I feel the adiction rising!!!

The balance is already screwed up anyway. Do you really think the +/-5% bonus are all worth 500 points?
For instance pop growth bonus:
If you have a planet which normally grows at 15% per year, it becomes 20% per year: a +33% bonus!
And that way you could balance manually those bonuses...

I remember at least two mods for SE IV that tried to rebalance the values of the traits, as well.

that´s true blue templar, but in the old SEIV method you could i.e. deactivate intelligence in a game and then remove the points from that trait and move it somewhere else.
you can do that now too, but only very limited.

anyway, maybe a modder will take the time and implement it somehow again....just for the good old SEIV feeling Smiling

Well, of course you could do that, but it's like cheat codes: you could use them as well, and nobody complains about balancing them. It's up to you to make a balanced empire. And also that way you could make even more powerful AI empires!
