Change the settings on your machines virtual memory to give it more, but make sure you have enough free space on your primary partition to allow this. Also avoid running resorce hungty programs in the background at the same time as SEV

Hm, Do the errors look like any of the following?

D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY or,

D3DERR_OUTOFMEMORY

What is you graphics card? I suspect this is part of the memory leak or a bug in DirectX.

It might be the memory on the graphics card its caomplaining off, but I would up your VM to 6+ mb maximum as some SEV processes get that demanding it will also help soften the effects of the memory leak.

The video card's memory was what I was thinking, considering his VM is 4GB(XP's Max) and Ram is 2GB.

It report (last crash) DirectDraw can't create .... because not enough memory.

It takes a lot (20+ turns) to generate that crash and about loss of +/- 400 mb of ram also.

Ok, bear with me, but I'd like you to run some tests:

1. Click: Start->Run->dxdiag
2. DirectX Diagnostic tool should come up
3. Click the DirectX Files tab, under the notes section it should say: No problems found.
4. Click the Display tab and run the Test DirectDraw and the Test Direct3D buttons. These will run 4 tests, DirectDraw, Direct3D 7, Direct3D 8 and Direct3D 9.
5. Report back if you pc fails any of the tests in step 4, or if files are missing from step 3.

Yep, this is almost certainly a SEV problem. I would suggest you send an email with an attached save and good description of the problem to Malfador. se5 at malfador dot com
