Major AI mods

Hello all i am fairly new here and i would like some advice. I've just started modding se5 and i would like to make som adjustments to the AI. First off i want to make it so that the AI will acctually obey the treaties i sign with it for example if i request aid or something it would be nice if the comp followed through with it's agreement to help. Another thing is i want to set the AI combat tactics so that it does more than just bombard planest and acctually tries to ues troops. If any of you have any suggestions i would appreciate it.

Well i wish that i could help ya...im a components modder myself Smiling
But it sounds doable, you might just need to mess with the AI's diplomacy setting in the scripts? The troops part would also be in the scripts. (at least until Captain Kwok comes in and says that it is immpossible to do and "hardcoded" Smiling )

Thanks i also want to do some component mods i want to arrange it so that you have to place sheilds and weapons in fixed hardpoint spots like in star fury do you have any suggestions?

The best place to see how thats done is SuicideJunkie's GrittyGalaxy Mod, it sets up the thing your looking for, placeable shields and armor. One warning with that though, GrittyGalaxy's AI doesn't work, not sure if SJ disabled it or left it alone until he gets the mod completed before tackling the AI.
