Best way to use drones? |
I've been thinking of trying out drones, whats the best strategy for using them?
I see that you can put weapons on them so is it good to use them like fighters? Or is kamikaze always the best? Whats your strategy?

scout ships for me. Too expensive for combat over fighters.

Early in the game they may be good as suicide craft, but soon the expense of a few drones is more than a small carrier. The footnote to that is that drones can be manufactured on any planet, not just ones with shipyards.
Drones as scouts are always useful, and their speed ensures escape against most opponents, even when the drones are older models.
