AI stops putting a weapon on troop designs

In the mod I'm working on, I changed the starting weapons. I've figured out how to make the changes in the AI files, and the AI designs its ships with the starting weapons except for troops. Anyone else run into this before? I cant track the problem down at all, I've made sure to add the new entry under Unit Weapons in one particular test empire's main script. I added weapons to both the primary and heavy weapon under Unit Weapons. I also made sure that the small weapon thats supposed to go onto troops was actually able to. So I really cant track the problem down.

Since 1.25 the AI puts too many armour components on its designs - a low-tech Troop has no room left for weapons (I believe one of the recent changelogs notes that this will be fixed in the next patch). Check the AI-designed troops and see if they have lots of armour and no free space.

I have noticed this. Is there a setting I can change to override this behavior in 1.25r2 while waiting for the next patch to come out?
