FQM 5.00 Beta 4

Announcing the posting of FQM 5.00 Beta 4, for SE5.

I am aware that ringed planets do not have a glow. I have not yet decided on the thickness of glows. Any comments related to glow colors and such would be appreciated.

Beta 4 version history:
1. Changed - Reduced size of StarGlow.bmp texture by 75%.
2. Removed - Skybox pictures are no longer used. System backgrounds will now always consist solely of stars.
3. Added - New swirly Warp Point graphics, courtesy of Suicide Junkie.
4. Added - Atmosphere effects to planets (save None). Each planet has a star glow effect with color based on atmosphere type. Ringed planets do not yet have a glow.

Please note that this is a work in progress. There are bound to be quirks, which you should report. All suggestions for improvement are welcome!

I just generated a galaxy and had a quick look around, some comments:

The atmospheric glow effects are a very welcome addition, I really hated having to click every planet to see what atmosphere type it had. The glow radius looks about right to me. It shouldn't be any larger, and smaller would make it too hard to see. Being able to distinguish between normal and special warp points by their color is also a huge improvement.

Also I'm glad you got rid of the skyboxes, I thought about doing that myself but was too lazy Smiling

As before, all you need to do to combine this with other mods is:

1) Create a "BM + FQM" mod folder.
2) Copy all of the files and folders from Balance Mod into it. Maybe edit the Mod Description file to give it a unique name.
3) Copy the text files from FQM's data folder into the "BM + FQM" data folder (save settings.txt if I forgot to delete it). You do not need the subfolders or the .py files.
4) Copy the FQM Pictures folder into the "BM + FQM" folder. This has all the storm and WP textures. Copying the whole folder is the easiest way.

Just as a FYI, I will be including a version of FQM in the v1.04 of the Balance Mod. It will be more or less the same, but might feature a few small tweaks. Sticking out tongue

A few Kwok-ian touches like the elimination of quintuple and quadruple star systems etc. Perhaps I'll throw in a nice star glow I made too. Maybe I'll be even nicer and donate it to FQM?
