Black Holes: Are all Black holes the same?

Submitted by Samaw on Thu, 2007-02-08 13:35. SE:V MODs

Should the gravational strength of all black holes be the same? My thoughts on this is no. I was able mod the Quadrant types & System types to reflect this. When looking at Quadrant types file you will see there is 5 different black holes, but all the black holes are the same. So I changed the chance on each of these black holes to reflect the chance of black holes being stronger or weaker than others with a higher chance that the black hole is weaker. Before black hole 1 thru black hole 5 you have a chance of 4. My mod was to change B H 1 to chance of 6, B H 2 to chance of 5, B H 3 to chance of 4, B H 4 to chance of 3, B H 5 to chance of 2. Under the System Type you have the same black holes 1-5 all of which says ships and units move toward the center at a rate of 2. My Mod to System type is B H 1 move 2, B H 2 move 3, B H 3 move 4, B H 4 move 5 and B H 5 move 6. Which would be a very dangerous Black Hole to be around. There is two places that you need to change the rate of movement in the System type file.

I think so appart from their appearence and the damage some warp points into them cause, but its a nice idea and makes explorying through or past black hole syetems more risky as it should be.

i did the same thing o have one black hole that only has a strenght of 1 and also has a planet( i did it to see it i could) the others are 3-4-5 and one a Massive with a strength of 10 your not getting away from that one also i edited the speed of the gas cloud

(as for the planet in the black hole system i also have planets in some nebulaes again just to see if it could be done)

Thats cool and odd at the same time the planet i had around the black hole have moved to the center of the map but not the asteriod belt
