MC and Crew together

I typically design Battleships and Dreadnaughts with both a Master Computer and an actual Crew. However, I wonder now if the system would be able to handle this setup correctly. What would happen if the crew were subverted to another empire but the MC was still loyal? Also, would the system know what to do if the MC was taken out by a computer virus and allow the crew to take over? The game has no problems with these kinds of ships when I build them and they work fine in the battles against the AI. Not sure about a game against another human player though.

Hmm...no insights on this? I have read on other sites that SEIV knew how to handle these types of ships. I just wanna know if SEV does too.

I think most people use one or the other I certainly do and it would be a matter of seeing if the bonuses for having a master computer of a certain tech level stacked with crew experience or not. I would give it a whirl in the simulator and see what happens if you want to know. I suspect that it dosent but having not tried it that’s just an educated guess.

Both Crew and MC are able to get experience, but it's not seperate experience, so it won't stack.

If the crew is killed or the MC is destroyed, the other takes over flawlessly.

Not sure about subversion, however...

The ship can still revolt even with a MC(had it happen to me). Have had situations where the MC saved the ship after the crew was killed. So I always go with both.

No the ship revolted , it even changed to an empire I already defeated...(why I don't know my population was jubilant) Now every ship I build I have A MC and a crew to suppliment each other, just in case of loss. I guess if the crew revolts the MC gets reprogramed. It was a shame to because it was part of a fleet of 60 ships. (It didn't last long the traitor)
