Alliances and allies

Submitted by swordsbane on Sun, 2007-01-28 08:53. Space Empires V General

So far I have yet to get any sort of cooperation in battle. I have an alliance with "Mutual Defense" on and Non Aggression set to "allow colonization in each others systems" I had a stack of ships. Some were mine, and there were two other alliance members there. We were attacked by another race and when battle started, everyone started shooting at everyone. My allies turned on me and my ships (which were on auto) started firing on them.

WTF? Are allies not implemented yet or am I doing something wrong? I tried the same thing without an alliance but with a simple treaty and was never able to make my allies fight with me against someone else. What gives? I know Alliances are all messed up right now, but treaties should work at least.

nayway, i was on a blockade vs.those moles, my abby allies flew up, bombarded the planet 9much to my surprise!) , and then, also to my surprise, shot my blockade-frigate up.

I guess if its a bug i WON'T show them what fusion bombs could do to a gas giant....

Troll? No, Sir, I am a BADGER!
